Principal Function for this Position The Executive Director is responsible for the management, administration and growth of the Growing Tree Nursery School to ensure an environment that allows children, their families, and the staff to develop to their full potential. The Executive Director is accountable for program operation that meets Tennessee Department of Human Services criteria.
Categorized Duties (specifically stated in Employment Handbook): Administration: Recruit, manage, and retain enrollment and class assignments Staff: Hire, train, manage, and evaluate staff according to licensing requirements Finances: Draft, propose, and manage a Board-approved budget; Manage Accounts Payable according to the approved budget; Manage Accounts Receivable based on enrollment and tuition rates as set by the Board; Assume primary responsibility for necessary fundraising activities with or without parent organization Report monthly finances to Board and Church Council Review annual finances with FUMC Finance Committee member and/or Trustee Curriculum: Provide opportunities for the best physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development Spirituality: Collaborate with Children’s Ministries Team and Program Director to set and evaluate annual goals and ensure quality of religious programs Families: Partner and set expectations with monthly communication notes, annual parent orientation, parent/teacher conferences, and one-on-one meetings as needed Facilities: Coordinate events, maintenance, and general space needs with Church staff.
